Erchless Castle-Official Site
Castle Accommodation in the Heart of the Highlands
Erchless Castle, in the stunning Glenn of Strathglass, was built in the thirteenth century, became the home of Clan Chisholm in the 16th century, and has seen many changes and additions over the years yet still retains the unique feel of a private family home.
This spacious, comfortable and historic castle is ideally situated for enjoying all the Highlands have to offer and is only a 45 minute drive from Inverness Airport. The estate consists of 12,000 acres, the highest point being the Phollain at 855 metres. Red deer, stag and hind stalking are available in season and the estate has two beats on the River Glass where fishing, and tuition if necessary, can be arranged from July – October.
Much of the Highland castle has been recently refurbished for additional comfort. Erchless castle accommodation is let on a self-catering basis, however, catering can be provided and we also have contact numbers for local chefs and caterers if required.
